Learning Activity 8: Web image formats
This task was focused around "green lifestyle" and being "environmentally aware" by take some photos (up to 9) that reflect the notion of "being environmentally aware" then combining these into a single image, at 1920x1080, 72 dpi, RGB.

Learning Activity 7: Combining Images using Layer Masks
This activity worked selections, working with layers, creating Layer Masks, using the gradient tool (to make the linear fade effect), working with type and saving for the web.
The Brief:
You need a hero shot to use on an online trading website to sell one of your sacred possessions; your choice.

Learning Activity 6: Making Selections & Combining Images
For this learning activity we had to take kathy's Car and place the car into a different scene.

After Using the quick selection tool, and clone stamp tool.
Original image
after cutting out the forground
adding the car with a gaussian blur and over adjustments
placing the foregound back over the top
and finally a fill layer over the top with colour burn and 56% opacity

Adjustment Levels
The brief was to take a photo at dusk or low light and another in full sunlight and use the adjustment layers/curves/ levels technique to enhance the images

Cropping an image
for this activity we are looking a several different reasons to crop an image.
The brief was to take a bunch of photos, then pick 4 and express the following reasons.
Photo 1: Emphasise part of the image to give it more importance
Photo 2: Change the composition by moving the subject out of dead center
Photo 3: Change the orientation by making a horizontal image vertical
Photo 4: Eliminate distracting parts of the photo

Assessment 1: Design Module
To create my Blog advert I combined freehand drawing, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I used a black and white colour scheme to give it an mysterious feel. when you first see the advert the skeleton captures the viewers eye and draws your eye into the design.
